Commissions to Meet Monthly for Common Leadership Night

The five commissions along with the Parish Pastoral Council agreed to meet monthly on a single evening designated as Common Leadership Night, eliminating the need for multiple meetings.

On the first Tuesday of every month, the entire leadership group will meet at 7:00pm in the Parish Center.  After a gathering prayer, the Commissions willconvene separately for an hour.  Afterward, the entire group will rejoin and receive a very brief summary of each commission’s work.

Following the reports, the members of the Commissions will have an opportunity to socialize and discuss the night’s progress while the Pastoral Council convenes separately for an additional hour.

Better communication is one of our goals so after every Common Leadership Night we will put an insert in the bulletin containing the results of the meeting.

Our first Common Leadership Night is May 6. Parishioners are always welcome to attend.

Participation

The work of the Commissions cannot be completed alone.  For people adverse to nighttime meetings there will be plenty of opportunities to donate your time and talents and suggestions.  A key component of our new leadership
structure is term limits.  Commission members are limited to three year terms and Pastoral Council will be limited to two years, so please be willing to assist when the spirit moves you and someone calls.

Whom do I ask?

Every aspect of parish life is now covered by one of our Commissions. This is a welcome change from our past structure. One of the agenda items for our first leadership night is to choose two chairpersons for each Commission.
In the event of questions about parish life please contact the chairpersons of the appropriate commission.  The names of the new chairpersons will be published in the church bulletin.  Eventually we plan to have a bulletin board with each Commission listed along with the areas of parish life that are its concern.

This leadership structure is new to all of us and many of you may have questions about the overall structure and process. Our new motto is “Consult, Decide, Inform.” Ask any of the leadership to explain CDI.

Carol DeMayo has agreed to be the PAR Point Person, a liaison between all the groups and to make sure we keep focused on our tasks.  Please ask Carol (email: rcdemayo@hotmail.com, Phone: 458-3149) if you have a question about implementation of our Parish Assessment and Renewal.
