Commission Reports
Administration
The census form has been completed.
In addition, we plan to include a time and talent questionnaire form to
draw out special interests of parishioners. Also, discussion in a
preliminary way, were the other changes of the commission are
communication and the call to discipleship.
Community
A discussion about co-chairs for the
Elderly Activities Commission. The parish census book was reviewed. Some
names listed for contact about co-chair position. A note will be placed in
the bulletin requesting volunteers.
Formation
The members discussed the structuring of a Youth Ministry
following PAR format from Father Sweetser’s website as a guideline. A
format for our Youth Ministry was created. A job description for the Youth
Ministry sub-commission volunteers was outlined. We brainstormed ways of
getting adult participants for this sub-commission. The members present
defined roles of the youth ministries and youth council (all of these will
be youth driven and adult facilitated).
Outreach
The commission members finalized plan for an Outreach
programs bulletin board (for in the church lobby) – completion will be in
July.There are 88 volunteers listed as participating in the outreach
programs. Plans for a bulletin insert for August. This will be based on
the content of the bulletin board. Information for outreach will be
placed on the website by Jim Fresia.
Worship
The commission members continued processing plans for the
Liturgical planning commission. Father Geoffrey Deeker has been recruited
to provide this group with a 2 session workshop. Potential sub-commission
members will be invited to attend. The members expanded the goals and
objectives for the Liturgical planning commission.
Pastoral Council
The council reviewed and recapped the various commission
meetings. The consensus of the council is that the commissions are strong
and moving in a positive forward direction towards their goals. No new
business.
**there will be no leadership night in August – the next meeting
will be September 2.
