The involvement of
children in the Liturgy was discussed. Liturgy committee plans to
coordinate with Formation and specifically with Debbie Cameron to find
ways to integrate knowledge of the Liturgy into the CCD program. Mass once
a month on a Monday with the CCD class is a possibility. Mary Shine will
coordinate this with Formation. Other Liturgical planning will be done by
another committee. The Liturgies for Holy Week are planned. The choir
plans to sing at the 10:30am Easter morning service. The Music Committee
is happy to report a large increase in choir members. Thanks to the new
participants.
Community:
(Operating as the Hospitality Committee)
Coffee hour schedule is
set up through June. We will take a vacation for July and August and
recommence in the fall. Thank you to Jackie Sedlock for organizing the
schedule. We are considering looking for someone to regularly inventory
supplies for coffee hours to keep the stock up. The committee discussed
numbers for a budget for next year. Fr. Burke’s reception is scheduled for
June 28. There will be a meeting with Carol DeMayo on Tuesday, April 14
for those interested in helping with parish tag and bake sale. The
chairpersons of the tag/bake sale won’t be selected until new priest
arrives. Plans will commence after the new pastor’s arrival.
Administration:
Reviewed the report of
the March 25 Buildings & Grounds commission. They discussed:
- Problems with the
sidewalks. Will work with the contractor to resolve.
- Inspected the
exterior brickwork on church which will need repair.
- Inspected the church
roof that will need to be replaced soon.
- Made arrangements to
remove the ceiling light fixture in St. Raphael’s Church and reinstall
in St. Patrick. Dick DeMayo volunteered to rewire the lights before
installation.
- The committee will
organize a joint meeting with the Decorating Committee to discuss where
they are at this time.
