                                 Santa Rosa News and Information

Note from Web-lackey:

The abundance of information that is being received from the group at Santa Rosa is making the presentation on this web page difficult. To simplify this, news items and photos will be shown chronologically with the latest on this opening page. Older items will be on successive pages. read to the bottom of a page and click on <more> to get to the next page. We hope that this will achieve our intent.

July 2010:
Note from Padre Claudio to Martha Dailey

Hi Sister, how are you there?  I will tell you that this week we visited the farthest communities from the city, those around the Napo River.  We formed three groups of 4 people in each group.  In this opportunity we don't have the animators of the community, those that help in the parish.  In the next 2 weeks we will visit 42 communities.  We will spend one day in each community.  Thank you for your donations.  Part of the money will be used to visit these communities, the other part is to buy materials for the group of women and the elderly and children with disabilities.

Thank you for everything you have done for us and the people of our parish.  We always tell our parishioners that there is a parish that prays for us and we offer our Eucharist and praying for you and your community.  We pray for all of you including your elderly and you are all mentioned in our prayers to the Almighty.  The people, little by little, are taking seriously the Adoration and Eucharist on a daily basis.

Thank you for everything, we will continue communicating with you and count on our daily humble prayers that God of Life continue blessing you all.

Hugs from P. Claudio and the missionary team

Hi Martha,

I hope all is well.  Please note my new e-mail address: ptpa1978@verizon.net

Below is the translation of a message from Fr. Claudio and the original message in English.  Enjoy it!  Please share it with your parishioners.  I like his gift to children more than the material gifts that we give to children that sometimes overshadows the true happiness of Christmas.  I like how he works!

Peace,

Frances Sosadeeter

Father Claudio's letter translated by the women above, follows:

Dear sisters:

I give you sincere thanks for all what you are doing for us.  Also from here, we are united to you in prayer.

We are preparing for the weeks of advent and later for the celebration of our God the child.  During this year we are preparing to give the gift of happiness to the children of two of the farthest communities of the district.  Sometimes for them Christmas is one more day that goes by.  They do not experience the happiness of Christmas. I want them to feel that Christmas is for everyone. We want to gift them that gift of happiness during those days.

We continue in communication.  Thank you for the Web page.  In this way, we get to know our sister parishes.

Greetings from the distance.  May God of Life continue to bless you,

Fr. Claudio and the Missionary Team of Mazαn
Hugs!

     October 2009 Report

It is really an honor to communicate with you.  I am writing to greet you in this month of the “Lord of Miracles” in here in Peru [Peru’s patron].  From here we are asking the Lord of Miracles to bless you always.

We want to inform you and present to you the expenses we covered with the funds that with so much love you assist us.

The donation that you sent us for the month of March was of $500.00

Description of expenses:

1.- We completed the purchases of a computer:                          $ 250.00

5.- We purchased materials for the children and youth ministry: $   50.00

                                                                                                Total:  $ 500.00

The donation that you sent us in the month of August was of $ 500.00

This donation was really a very big blessing from God through you because in our annual parish planning we had programmed to have the II Workshop of Organizers/Lay Leaders and Catechists.  We were concerned because we didn’t have the resources for this workshop.  But, thanks to God and to your generosity and good heart, we had this workshop with lots of success.

The topics that we covered in the workshop were: Bible Study.

          Protection of the Environment..

We covered these topics because we see a need among our organizers/lay leaders to learn due to their lack a lot of knowledge about the Bible and due to the worldwide environmental problem, we wanted for the organizers/leaders to be the first ones in their communities to promote the care of the environment.

Expenses incurred in the II Workshop of O/L.L. and C.

Description of Expenses:

2 bags of rice….…………………………………….…………...$ 70.00
1 bag of sugar….……………………………………..…………$  30.00
2 boxes of milk.………………………………………..………...$ 32.00
20 kg of meat..…………………………………………..……….$  70.00
10 chickens………………………………………………………$  30.00
Logistic materials………………………………………………..$120.00
40 gallons of gas…………………………………………………$  90.00
Snacks for the closing night of the workshop ……………….
$  30.00
Bread for 4 days…...…………………………………………….
$  28.00

Total of expenses from the donation:                                   $ 500.00

As you may know, there were more expenses involved in this event, but we only included the ones covered with your generous donation.  There are no ways to thank you for all the kindness that you express towards us.

We simply want to tell you to count on us for our humble prayers.  We always have you present on all Wednesdays in the Eucharist.  It is on Wednesdays when we offer the Eucharist to our friends, sponsors and families.  For us, you are a great family.

Thank you for everything. May the Lord of Life continue to pour his blessings over you, your family and all the parishioners of your parish.

A hug from the distance,

Fr. Claudio and the Missionary Teams of Mazαn –Amazonas-Peru.
