Father Mark J. Burke, SJ was appointed
Administrator to the Parish effective Saturday June 7, 2003
Father Burke is a native of Dalton, Massachusetts. He is
the son of Anne (Maloy Amidon) and the late Donald W. Burke. He
entered the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits) in 1982. After studies at
Fordham University in the Bronx, he taught philosophy at the College of
the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. from 1986 to 1989.
Following this, he received a Masters of Divinity degree
from the Weston School of Theology (Cambridge, Mass.) in 1992 and a Masters
of Theology degree from the Jesuit school of Theology in Berkeley,
California in 1993. Father Burke was ordained in 1993. Since ordination he
has studied philosophy at the New School for Social research in New
York, taught at Fairfield university in Connecticut, and most recently,
has been Administrator at St. Anne Church in Chicopee, Mass.
