Baptism: Diocesan guidelines require parents (who must be registered members of Saints Patrick and
Raphael Parish) and godparents (if they live close enough) to meet with the
pastor and renew their understanding of the Sacrament. It is highly recommended
that parents contact the rectory before the baby arrives to avoid delays that
can be caused by having to obtain the services of a babysitter. Baptism at Mass
is highly recommended.
Marriage: Diocesan guidelines ask couples to enter a one year period of preparation for the
Sacrament of Marriage. This is not unrealistic since many of the arrangements
for a wedding take at least a year if not longer. Many couples engage their hall
a year before the wedding and contact the Pastor two or three months before the
wedding only to find they have a hall but not a church. Don’t be caught short.
Take plenty of time to do the Pre-Cana course, the communications assessment and
the paper work required
