Sacramental Life

Baptism:
Diocesan guidelines require parents (who must be registered members of Saints Patrick and Raphael Parish) and godparents (if they live close enough) to meet with the pastor and renew their understanding of the Sacrament. It is highly recommended that parents contact the rectory before the baby arrives to avoid delays that can be caused by having to obtain the services of a babysitter. Baptism at Mass is highly recommended.

Marriage:  Diocesan guidelines ask couples to enter a one year period of preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage. This is not unrealistic since many of the arrangements for a wedding take at least a year if not longer. Many couples engage their hall a year before the wedding and contact the Pastor two or three months before the wedding only to find they have a hall but not a church. Don’t be caught short. Take plenty of time to do the Pre-Cana course, the communications assessment and the paper work required

Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA):  Please call the parish office if you are interested in becoming Catholic.

Sick Calls/Hospital Visits:  Notify pastor in case of serious illness or sudden death. Let parish office know of hospitalized and homebound persons. Because of new privacy laws, if you or a family member would like a hospital visit from the priest, the patient or family member must notify the parish office.

Prayers for Sick or Deceased:  Call parish office for mention in bulletin.
